Yes, Carson Beckett (aka Paul McGillion) has made it into one of the Stargate Atlantis TV ads on SciFi. It was shown during a giant squid flick this afternoon. Once again, crappy quality till I get my paws on a better one

Jared Padalecki, current heart throb and pin-up boy from the hit show, Supernatural, arrived in Australia not only eight hours late, but sans luggage after it was misplaced en route to his destination.
The first stop for Padalecki was to pick up some new underwear which proved to be a bit of a challenge. He can battle paranormal entities but when it comes to the underwear, there was a bit of a language gap. He related his underwear saga, stating that Australian sizes are quite different than what he’s used to and when confronted with size 16, 18 and the like, he had no idea what to respond. He comes from the small, medium and large set, but was able to quickly ascertain that small was too small as it resembled a thong. He was quite embarrassed but pressed on.
His fandom which consisted of hoards of teenage girls were queued up and waiting to see him at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Sydney.
He was one of many stars who turned up in Sydney much to the delight of fans. Stars included Jewel Staite of Firefly fame and Stargate Atlantis, Kandyse McCurle from Battlestar Galactica as well as the stars from Gladiators and Heroes.
The Expo ran all weekend at the Sydney Olympic Park, celebrating all things imaginary including Superman, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Halo, Transformers and Tomb Raider to name a few. A great time was had by all who attended.

No, this isn’t science fiction . . . . it’s more science. And, yes, the guy is still living. The reporter is a bit obnoxious, but aside from that, it’s just another strange oddity of living in the “real world”. Huh?
Both Melodee M. Spevack (aka Sonja S. Fox) and Michael McConnohie – anime legends and popular fan convention guests – are appearing on the fan series STAR TREK: THE HELENA CHRONICLES. Spevack has also appeared on STAR TREK: ODYSSEY.
Some of their previous connections with the sci-fi world have been:
They cast and directed additional voices as well as the classic cast in STAR TREK: 25TH ANNIVERSARY and STAR TREK:JUDGMENT RITES.
Spevack was the voice of Shran’s Andorian Lieutenant in ENTERPRISE (“Kir’shara”).
Both were voices in STARSHIP TROOPERS. Spevack voice doubled Sigourney Weaver in ALIEN: RESURRECTION.
Michael was also four of THE TRANSFORMERS, the original “D” in VAMPIRE HUNTER D, the original CAPTAIN HARLOCK and more – Melodee was five major DIGIMON, Julia in FIST OF THE NORTH STAR and too many more to list – see imdb on both for their extensive credits.
Season four of The 4400 continues to explore the idea of what happens when normal, everyday citizens receive extraordinary powers. Across seasons four’s 13 episodes, the common theme is about change—changing the world, acquiring an ability—a coherent through-line that echoes current domestic politics, too. Season Four takes the series full circle and gets it back on track.
The 4400’s appeal always lay in the ongoing mystery of what happened to the original 4400: the people who’d disappeared over time, and then were returned to Earth simultaneously. But this season successfully refocused the action on the growing strife between people with an ability (promicin positives, be they among the 4400 or those who took a shot to become a promicin positive) and those without.
Billie Doux brings us his review of “The Hub” with our thanks.
Roslin: “I love you.”
Adama: “About time.”
Interesting that such a heavily military episode should also be so philosophical, and so full of heart. There was a lot of blood, too.
This was Mary McDonnell’s episode, and they certainly gave her a good one. Roslin discussed her own approaching death during the jumps with her own subconscious (represented by the long dead Elosha), which was an effective and touching way to show her coming to terms with her approaching demise. She finally found a way to forgive Gaius for the horrible things he did, just when she learned the worst. And she realized that love was what mattered in the end. The scenes where Adama put his ring on Roslin’s dead finger, and the way she greeted him and told him she loved him moved me to tears.
The last few episodes have shown human and Cylon slowly coming together and finding common ground, and the shared (and visually stunning) joint raid on the Hub may have cemented that effort by putting Cylons and humans on an equal footing. This was symbolized by the return of D’Anna, who is now singular as well as mortal. I really liked the way D’Anna immediately grasped the entire situation and began jockeying for survival. And I absolutely loved the way she killed Cavil the moment she learned about the destruction of the Hub. She didn’t even get out of the bathtub to do it.
For a moment, I completely believed D’Anna when she told Roslin that she was one of the Final Five. Of course, Roslin has been my favorite candidate for awhile. I wonder if D’Anna told Roslin the truth and took it back just to gauge Roslin’s reaction? I hope hope hope we find out next week. I’m tired of waiting. I want to know. Continue reading →
The beginning of the end is now complete. I believe that with this episode, we have established the roles of all people involved, laid out their strengths and weaknesses and paved the road for the inevitable complications that are to come.
When I first watched Sine Qua Non, I thought it was a bit long and that it lacked the usual breakneck, edge of seat nail biting I’ve come to expect in this series. However, this episode takes a couple of viewings in order to grasp the full measure of what it’s conveying. This is definitely NOT a filler episode, but it wears “filler” clothing.
We have put into play the following characters all of whom have an alternative ajenda and reasons for acting the way that they do. Easiest to figure is Colonel Saul Tigh. He knows he is a Cylon, and he is torn. We have seen that in his attempts at being super human, super loyal and tearing at anyone who would believe different, all the while meeting with his other Cylon models who have found a similar fate of hiding amongst the humans.
There is something that I missed during the first and second viewing, which I believe is pivotal to the plot. How did Lee Adama see Lampkin’s “dead cat”?
But moving on, let’s look at a truly dangerous figure and ask the question – Why would Tom Zarek settle for Vice President with Lee Adama, former Junior Senator as President? Why would he do that? He is truly a dangerous man who has an agenda that is bigger than being President. One has to ask what does he know or believe that would make him take a demotion so well. Continue reading →
