Welcome back!
By giving the role of the most famous spy of the planet to Daniel Craig two years ago, the producers of the James Bond series did not completely hide their intentions to reinvent the character and his world. In short, they wanted to deconstruct the myth to show the real man. The mission is successful since James Bond looked like a mad dog in Casino Royale, broken with the traditions of international espionage, ready to rush in the side when the opportunity arises. Even better, he was in love; a heresy for aficionados.
Located just a few minutes after this episode, Quantum of Solace, directed by Marc Forster (Monster’s Ball, Stranger than Fiction, The Kite Runner), is no exception to this new spirit. For this qualification: Bond is no longer in love, but a man betrayed and hurt, thirsty for revenge, despite the recommendations of his beloved M. who is imposed as his mentor (still the formidable Judi Dench in which mouth ironic replicas and black humor take a particular flavor).
