In this free email course, I will tell you everything I have on improving your writing, publishing, electronic and paper, and his promotion after the sale.

Answer # 1 – It costs you nothing. The most important bit of advice I can give you, and I say this often does not pay for publication.
My success has made the investment period. Some money well spent, but much was lost. It costs me nothing to share what I learned. It costs you nothing, except to read a little of your time.

But in my "Breakout" year (2000), I finished writing four books and they all planned for publication in 2001. Then I spent almost a year as an editor and author of Development Specialist for one of my editors.
After my first book was published, both my publishers closed. More than two weeks and three publishers, I was back on track. The four books have been reprinted, and the fifth will be published in 2004. Written in 2003, no discharge.
See how it has been much faster the second time? Because I learned a lot.

Excuse me for bragging, but better yet, you think I am not qualified.
I also found the editing. That's what I do if I do not write, do legal transcription, or teaching English in China () my new home. But the thing is, if I was before writing an editor to know how I would have stunk.
I'll tell you what is missing in this course. What to write about where I put my ideas, stuff like. Maybe I have no answer to this question because I think you should make their way, not mine. Or maybe because I do not know how I do. Or perhaps both.
Once you've done something with your writing, this course will have participated in all the other things on their status as a writer. Letter must include at least four different hats. Writer, editor, request publication, self-promoter after the sale.
What I can tell you my letter.
Sometimes a story idea is right for me to nowhere and refuses to leave me alone until I write it. So, I do.
And when I read a book that really fires me, I find myself thinking: "I wish I could be like this." To write, I just keep trying. I never write the best, but I always write my best. And each time better. This is the "secret" of writing "business" like any other company. Always deliver.
I read with avidity, I usually recommend an author who does not already own. You will unconsciously revert to what works and what does not. The characterization, dialogue, pace, intrigue, history, location, description, etc. But most importantly, someone who does not enjoy never read write something that someone else enjoy read.
I do not write "for the market." I know I can not, so I write for myself and then try to readers who like what I like here. I try not to fan the next bestseller and get rich. Not that I complain. No, I did write that found later in my heart, so go get a contract. It's a marketing challenge in time, but I would not have otherwise.
When you write a dreamer. Go nuts. Know that you write pure gold. The fire is why we write.
An author who I really admire, Kurt Vonnegut, the sweat of every sentence. He writes, he writes, and do not leave until it is perfect. When he finished, he did.
I think most people are writing it. I do not know. I let them fly as fast as my fingers move on the paper or keyboard can plunge to record my thoughts before he disappeared. Later I had to change and shuffle and cut into slices.
James Michener claimed he wrote the last sentence first, then his goal was in mind when he wrote his way toward them.
Then there's me. No plan whatsoever. I create characters and conflict, spend days and weeks on the job until the first chapter really makes me ask: "How will it end?" Then take my characters and I'm like the reader If I finished my story surprise.
Some authors have set aside a certain number of hours per day to write a certain number of words. In short, a calendar letter.
Then there's me. No letter of eating for three or six months, then a wave of activity where I forget to sleep, bathe, change the kitty litter. . . I am a walking cliché. To alleviate the guilt, I tell myself that my subconscious is at work. As Hemingway said, think long and too short time of writing.
I have given you the extremes presented in writing styles. I think most writers fall somewhere in between. But my point is to know what works for you. You may like to read other authors to do so, and if it works for you, fine. But in the end, you can find your own way. That's what writers do.
Just do not do it halfway.
If you do, what a story that entertains and moves, then you decide to readers who share your tastes will find writing to do so. For some of us is a niche market, and for others it is the regular presence on the list of best-seller.
Writing is a calling, but publishing is a business. Please note that after you've written your manuscript. Not during.

The next step is to edit themselves. Fix all the mistakes I made that I can find in my haste, before writing my muse leave is taken. Several rewrites. Traveling again with a fine tooth comb.
And then what?
There are stories that get rejected, because she hates the potential publisher, but they are much more fired for other reasons. Stilted dialogue. Boring description. Weak characters. Underdeveloped story. Unbelievable or inconsistent plot. Sloppy writing.
That's what you fix.

After some time, I have no desire for more workshops. I am so happy, a woman whose advice I will always cherish, and after all this time, could have used what I was. But very soon, it would have been unfair, he did not ask to read my ramblings. (Not that I do not like anyway.)
Your goal when you can edit your book is as close to "ready to read" as you can. You want to find a publisher, you do not miss what you do not know.
To this end, I offer two resources.
Their history is your history. Write on your heart, and if it looks like something that was fun to read, to visit a publisher who hold shares your taste. What you do not want is that the first player in mind, making your special story, because you have set themselves loose with silly mistakes.

But there is a limit to what you can work without receiving pay for it too. Do you need more than that? I do not know because I never saw your letter. But if you assess it honestly, I think you know the answer.
As editor, I worked with some authors who could not even easy to change. A non-native English speaker, a guy who, for English class, sleep whatsoever. For them, perhaps for payment processing is an option. This is no payment for publication. This is the payment for a service, education. As the tape to a creative writing course at local community college.
Incidentally, I do not believe that creativity can be taught. Letter, of course. I picked up my Creative Writing class in high school, free, and I can appreciate. But I already had the creativity, or it would a waste of time and I was the teacher.
If you're an editor worthy of the holiday name, you should by this editor, how to edit yourself in the future. In my case it took two attempts because it was the first editor of a rip-off artists charge more than ten times the market value for advice incomplete.
The editor is to edit the path, ink appointed, and are quoted on a number of warning "fraud" sites links above to the authors. They took bribes from agents all wrong, they sent a client. (I am speaking of fake agents later.)
When you hire an editor, price and reputation. And keep in mind that you could never do enough to sell your books back to what you pay for this publisher. Do you care? It is your decision.
