This is an excellent piece of music. I grew up watching this show in junior high school, when it was called that! Anyhow, a fantastic video which brings back incredible memories for me. This show aired when I was 13 years old. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra did a fabulous job with this theme! Great stuff here once again!Ken Palmer

That’s exactly when I used to watch it! When I was in junior high. I was in 7th grade.

I didn’t know it was some sort of competition… What are you one of those internet armchair generals? Doesnt get any satisfaction if they dont have someone they can attempt to bully around … Your one of those hollow people that dont know how to fight. So you have no place talking about it. I never said anything about you losing or me winning. But I guess if you want to get technical about it… You lost the conversation due to your ignorance and lack of mentality. It was played three times in the new series. Once during the pilot and once during Galacticas trip into the sun since your such a expert on the new one…. Im sure you can tell us all where the third one is. Its not a hymn of the colonies its a tribute to the original series. Its the original series opening theme. I watch tv to escape reality…. not stay in it. Since you obviously never watched the original by that comment.. Why dont you go give it a chance its on HULU, BSG CLASSIC

Iv’e seen both and it is used as the anthem for the colonies. I believe the third time was when they sent the Galactica ant the rest of the ships into the sun in the last episode.

Yeah well its not really used in the original series run except for the intro… as far as the new one goes its called colonial anthem.. however it really was done in tribute to the original. Otherwise they woulda wrote new music for that too. However in the new one they did alter the theme from this quite a bit.
