After reading magazines and newspaper articles and podcasts and listen to all comments on the new DVD set, I honestly thought I knew everything concerning the beginning of the familiar excellent new "Battlestar Galactica". But The Official Companion covers not only what we already knew the series started in much greater detail than ever before, but also narrow pants Chief Tyrol responsible for surprising revelations and new information.
Run from the manufacturer's choice of casting replacement (Susan Sarandon, as President Roslin? "Stargate SG-1 Ben Browder as Apollo? Richard Hatch as Elosha?) Storyline Developments and the refusal to Universal in the episodic series without using an international radio station to thank (for the lords of Kobol for Sky One!), all you need to know about the mini-series and season to know is here. David Bassom interviews all the key actors Edward Olmos down and covers everything in depth.
BSG Every true fan needs this book.

Verified Amazon purchase (What is this?) Battlestar Galactica is an amazing spectacle. I saw all the articles I have read and watched the show, heard the title, etc., and wanted even more – to try until the new season starts to hang. Well, read this official companion is very nice and it was also instructive.
It begins with a chapter on how the show is back, and long to provide summaries of each episode (and the mini-series) y, with snacks, information on the author (s) and evaluation vote and comments of participants. There are many images in black and white one and the center section of color photos. After the episode guide, there are 4 pages of each chapter the protagonist (William and Lee Adama, Roslin, Kara, Baltar, Six, Sharon and the support characters). The book ends with chapters on production design, visual effects and music. There is an afterword by Ronald Moore and David Eick and many reviews of the film crew throughout the book.
I enjoyed this very great and I look forward to season two leaders. It helped me to cope with the lull between seasons to watch the old episodes again and even more fun.
Highly recommended.

I bought a number of books on my favorite TV shows over the years. In most cases, I have learned to avoid the "official" guide or companion, because they more often than not, they tend to be antiseptic, unilluminating and noncritical. But as "Battlestar Galactica" is a notable exception, which is usually found in commercial television, so it's a wonderful companion to the typical "official" publication.
There are several reasons why this instruction well beyond the usual. First, vomit, too many leaders of the only rule on the content of each episode to fill some quotes from the episode on the sides, and perhaps identify music on an episode. If you're lucky, you can discover what guest stars on previous performances have appeared. This book is really a companion. It offers very little in the way of aggregating individual episodes. Indeed, given that the average length of the room for an overview of the events of the spectacle is less than one page. This means that in the book of 157 pages has a high total only 15-18 pages of text, a summary of events of the mini-series and 13 episodes of season one dedicated. The rest of the book is a wealth of additional information as an explanation of the origin of a script that significant changes are detected prior to changes in an episode of registration decisions by amending the special effects, and been completed so on. There are also many quotes from many players in the program, which seems specially interviewed for this book available.
There is also an opening in this book quite refreshing. For example, it shows how some players rejected some roles (like Lucy Lawless Turn the role of Ellen Tigh). There is much information about the casting process and was responsible for discovery, the performer is responsible.
The book deals not only with the bottom on every single episode, but also, as shown by the recovery of developed countries in 1978. Individual chapters explain such things are the special effects work on the show, music, art and design. Considerable sums of the individual are great and numerous supporting characters provided at the end.
Because of all these factors, it is simply one of the season's most useful and enlightening guide, I'm not a TV series. I recommend it to all fans of the series. I would add only a few checks that the book does not deal for a serious fan. I saw the whole series at least five times that I have read many articles on the internet, I have done hundreds if not thousands of articles about the show at various forums and hear all podcasts and commentary. But I learned a lot from reading the book. I think it is safe to say that it is also for fans of serious Ones much as casual workers.
