Welcome back!
This is the *best* Star Trek movie out there.
“Why would you do this?”
“Because I LOVE you, Spock”. . . that would have been the more logical response. . .
Just to be safe. . . I don’t own Star Trek.

Interesting I had never seen this before. This, I suppose, was to clarify things for the larger audience that was probably unaware of the precluding events. This movie was meant for larger audiences and because of it was the highest grossing film until recently.
One problem with this version is while the introduction is great, it should have been put after the Challenger dedication & Paramount logo.So it would be: dedication, logo, introduction, main credits.Just my opinion….
SnapeSoul:”Why would you do this?”"Because I LOVE you, Spock”I believe that’s exactly what he said… that’s the only logical way to interpret “because the needs of the one, outweigh the needs of the many” in my mind… Especially when you add:”But at what cost? Your ship? Your career?”"If I hadnt tried, the cost would have been my soul”:-)
Lol great video, but saying “I don’t own” won’t do anything if paramount wants to kill the video
It pisses me off that in the US, this excellent introduction to the Voyage Home wasnt used and was for European audiences, it also highlights Star Treks II III and this film as a Trilogy with IV being the last film to have anything to do with incidents tied to the last two. It was a great entertaining film, but II and III were far superior.
I agree…..U.S. audiences should have seen this intro when the film came out.I think that II, III, and IV are the best of the original cast.
I like this theme, it has a more playfull, confident feel. It fits the mood of the film.
Remember the Enterprise was to be decommissed in Star Trek III. Better for her to be destroyed on a mission than to have her broken up.
but as old as she was i would bypass to keep her alive and keep bypassing all systems to were she would still ive if it were in my hands the enterprise was
Very true… she died as she lived… protecting her crew.
